All rights reserved. ************************************************ Alice Lorraine Young - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post April 5, 2003 TALLULAH - Alice Lorraine Young died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 64. Mrs. Young was born in Vicksburg and lived most of her life in Tallulah, attending public schools and church there. She was a poet and her poems appeared in the Madison Journal under the heading of "Alice's Corner." Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Trantham and Lorraine Harris Young; a step-brother, Beverly Stone; and an aunt, Lavinia Young. She is survived by an aunt, Weatherford Young of Brookhaven, and cousins Ann Collette, Don Young and David Young of Jackson; Leslie Young of Dothan, Ala., and Leo Harris of Cape Girardeau, Mo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Richard Taylor and Kent Fabre officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 1 p.m. until the service. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Pallbearers will be George S. Weaver, Charles L. Stamey, Joe Straughter, James M. Panquin, Leo Watson and Theo Watson.
