All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ William Darrow Ziegler - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post August 18, 1949 ZIEGLER FUNERAL IS HELD TODAY AT TALLULAH CHURCH Prominent Resident Dies At Age Of 86 After Illness TALLULAH, La., Aug. 18-Final rites for William Darrow Ziegler, one of Madison Parish's oldest and most esteemed citizens, were held this morning at 10 o'clock from the Tallulah Methodist Church with the Reverend John F. Kilpatrick officiating. Interment was made in the Silver Cross Cemetery with Crothers Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Ziegler died early Wednesday morning at the age of 86. He had operated a mercantile establishment and an insurance agency in addition to planting interests. He was one of the organizers of the Tallulah State Bank and Trust Company, and had been a past president and member of the board of directors until a few months ago. Mr. Ziegler was an active member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Board of Stewards. Deceased is survived by his wife, Lily Brooks Ziegler; a daughter, Mrs. W. E. Regenold; a son, William Wallace Ziegler, and three grandchildren, all of Tallulah.
