Bids were received on the building Thursday afternoon. The new structure will be known as the Arcade Store and will contain the many features of an arcade building. It will extend across the end of the block opposite the Missouri Pacific Depot and will extend back about 140 feet. It will contain about twenty arcades, a filling station on the corner on the highway, and a place for a Post Office. Plans are not complete this week and Mertie M. Bloom declined to discuss exact details. He also refused to say how much the one-story structure would cost. Bloom and Saewitz interests in the building is said to be around $74,000. Cleaning up of the site has been in progress for several weeks. N. W. Overstreet, designers of the Lamar Life Insurance Building at Jackson, drew up plans for the Arcade store.
