H. Calhoun. They drove over to Oak Grove Sunday, June 30 and were quietly married by Rev. Mr. Brooks, a Baptist minister his home. Miss Wixson is the popular daughter of Mr. C. E. Wixson of Waverly and has many friends in Tallulah. Mr. Calhoun was originally from Vaiden, Miss., but now is a valued employee of the Gilbert-Orpet Chevrolet Company of Tallulah. It was the intention of this popular young couple to keep their marriage a secret for a week and then surprise their friends with its announcement. Unfortunately, the bride was taken suddenly ill shortly after and when taken to Vicksburg it was found that an appendicitis operation was necessary. Consequently the secret had to be let out prematurely. We are glad to say that Mr. Calhoun reports his bride is now recovering and will be able to return in a short time.
