All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Kearney-Joiner Wedding - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Madison Journal July 1897 In Duckport, La., July 7, a very interesting wedding of two mutes took place. The bride, Miss Joiner, of Duckport, and the niece of Col. Boney; the groom Alfred Kearney, formerly resided in Duckport, but for some years past had been a professor in the Deaf Institute of Jackson, Miss. The couple, now on their wedding trip, are now guests of the groom's sister, Mrs. Hardie, in Birmingham, Ala. Later they will be with his sister and brother, Mrs. Bruff of New Orleans, and Mr. Kearney of Long Beach. Visits will also be made to the bride's relatives in Mobile, Montgomery, Midway and Ozark, Ala.
