Eve Arceneaux, a homemaker, died Friday at Riverlands Health Care Center in Lutcher. She was 89. Mrs. Arceneaux was born in St. James Parish and lived in Gramercy for many years and in Lutcher for the past five years. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Arceneaux, and three grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Michelle L. Blank passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge. LUTCHER - Bernice Hebert Bourgeois, 85, a native of Thibodaux and a resident Lutcher, died Feb. 23. She was the wife of Jessie Louis Bourgeois. Garnet Scharwath Bourgeois Payne, 76, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2009, at River Parishes Hospital, LaPlace. She was preceded in death by Roger M. Bourgeois by first marriage and Julius A. Payne by second marriage. She was a native of Lutcher and a resident of LaPlace for the past 50 years. Survived by a son, Michael J. Bourgeois; a daughter, Peggy Jo Jones; a daughter, Joette B. Malain; son-in-law, Louis J. Malain Jr.; and a son, Todd J. Bourgeois. Also survived by a brother, Roy "Sugar Boy" Scharwath; a sister-in-law, Barbara Louque Scharwath; brothers-in-law, Pershing and Ferrel Bourgeois; a sister-in-law, Patsy Bourgeois Thompson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Donald E. Burch, a retired lab supervisor for Citco, died Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. He was 90. Mr. Burch was born in Edgard and lived in Sulphur and Baton Rouge. Survivors include his wife, Mae Gaudet Burch; a son, Donald E. Burch Jr. of Metairie; a daughter, Lila Crochet of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Clyde W., Warren E. and Dr. Robert R. CANTILLO GRAMERCY - James Earl Cantillo, 69, a native of Lutcher and resident of Gramercy, died July 24. He was the husband of the late Avis Cornborough Cantillo and father of Christine, James, Michael and Steven Cantillo. He was the son of the late Anthony and Lucy Mancuso Cantillo and brother of Anthony Jr., Lebo, Victor and Rocky Cantillo. He is survived by six grandchildren. Nancy Williams Cantrelle, 76, was born Oct. 1, 1934, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2011. She was a native of Hermanville, Miss., and a resident of Lutcher. Survived by her husband, Maurice J. Cantrelle; sons, Karl and wife Pamela, and Eric Cantrelle and daughter Nancy Elizabeth Cantrelle-Laiche and husband Damian; brothers, E.H. Alfred Joseph Chauvin

Alfred Joseph Chauvin, a retired insurance salesman for American General Insurance for 30 years, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mildred Accardo Chauvin. He was a native of Union, La, and a resident of Lutcher. He is survived by his children Susan Bourgeois and husband Roy; Ann C. Rodriguez, Charles Chauvin, Michael Chauvin and wife, Lori. Daughter-in-law Mary B. Chauvin. He leaves 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Beloved brother of William Chauvin of LaPlace; Gary Chauvin of Prairieville, Daisy Cloutre of Thibodaux, Bernice Cantella of Baton Rouge and Doris Brignac of Abita Springs. Preceded in death by two sons, Al Chauvin Jr. and John A. Chauvin; parents, William Chauvin and Gussie Bourque Chauvin of Union; sister, Betty Breaux; and brother, Wilbert J. Chauvin. He was a member of the National Guard Unit for six years. He was a commissioner at the voting polls for 28 years. John G. Chauvin

John G. Chauvin, a carpenter, died Tuesday at Riverlands Health Care Center in Lutcher. He was 86. Mr. Chauvin was born in Union and was a lifelong resident of Lutcher. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include two daughters, Laura Chauvin Delhommer and Cheryl Chauvin Cornett; two sisters, Enola C. Sanchez and Ruby C. Loupe; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Alexander Funeral Home, 2208 Jefferson Highway, Lutcher. Burial will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Robert J. "Bobby" Chenier, Sr., age 76, was born on June 30, 1936 and passed away on November 7, 2012. He was a native of Reserve, LA and a resident of Gramercy, LA. He was a retiree of Kaiser Aluminum, after 29 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Katherine "Kitty" Bourgeois Chenier; sons, Robert "Bobby, Jr." Chenier and wife, Melissa Ann Chenier; Glenn Chenier, Keith Chenier and wife, Janell Poche Chenier. Robert R. DeGroff

DeGROFF GRAMERCY - Robert R. DeGroff, 82, a native of Ellensville, N.Y. and residentof Gramercy, died July 1. He was the husband of the late May Millet andfather of Kathleen Guidry. He was also the son of the late Ralph and Anna DeGroff and brother of the late Kathryn Evans. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. Services were July 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

Julius Paul Derbigny

Julius Paul Derbigny, a retired teacher and principal for the St. James Parish public school system, died May 3 of a heart attack at St. James Hospital in Lutcher. He was 73. Mr. Derbigny was a native of New Orleans and lived in Gramercy for many years. He served in the Army and was a teacher, coach and principal at Lutcher High School. He also coached at Cypress Grove High School, Second Ward High School and Sacred Heart School. Mr. Derbigny was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. He received degrees from Xavier University, Louisiana State University, Delgado and Tulane University. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Pipion Derbigny; four sons, Clarke, Curtis, Carlton and Carey Derbigny; and eight grandchildren. A wake will be held tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Gramercy. A Mass will be said Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum in Paulina. Carey James Velt Dicharry Sr., 70, died at his home in Gramercy on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005. He was a native of Convent and a longtime resident of Gramercy. Hazel (Nuckolls) Dicharry

Hazel Dicharry, a loving and caring aunt, departed this life at 3:00 am on Wed. February 15, 2012 at the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice after a brief illness. She was 95. "Aunt Hazel" as she was affectionately known was born in Shreveport, LA on Aug. 2, 1916. She was a longtime resident of Gramercy, Louisiana. For the past 6 years she was a resident of Lake Sherwood Village in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Aunt Hazel was a devoted and faithful member of her church, lived joyfully, prayed faithfully, gave generously, and loved unconditionally. She will be missed by all who knew her. Lisa Cohen "Mer-Mer" Dicharry, a retired human resources director, was entrusted to God's loving care on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, in Lutcher. She was 57 and a native and resident of Paulina. She was the daughter of the late Anita and Robert Cohen, loving wife of Lloyd Dicharry Jr. for more than 39 years, devoted mother of Dawn D. Martin, Dorrie D. Oubre and Darcy D. St. Pierre, sister of Robert Cohen Jr. and David Cohen, both of Waveland, Miss., and Jackie C. Rung, of New Orleans, and devoted grandmother of Bethany Oubre, Andrew Oubre, Adrian Oubre, Kailee Martin, Ethan St. Pierre, Eli St. Pierre and Eric St. Pierre. She was a PSR teacher for St. Joseph Catholic Church, a substitute teacher at Chanel Interparochial School, a volunteer and board member for the Chanel Maintenance Committee and a member of the bell choir for the school Masses. A memorial gathering will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Entombment in the church mausoleum. Ralph J. Dicharry

Ralph J. Dicharry, a lifelong resident of Lutcher, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. He was 76 years old and retired from Chemtura (formerly Uniroyal Chemical) in Geismar. Ralph has now been reunited with his wife of 54 years, Shirley Oubre Dicharry, in heaven, destined to spend the rest of eternity looking over all of us. Ralph has been a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and on other parish committees. Ralph had a very strong faith and was a loving husband, dad, brother, grandfather (Pops), and uncle. His grandkids called him Pops, and his kids called him Dad, but his family and friends really knew him as a mentor and most of all a buddy. Later in life, God dealt him a bad hand of cards, and somehow with his personality, strength and infectious smile and laugh, he still managed to pull off a winning hand. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Oubre Dicharry; parents: Benjamin and Felicia Dicharry; his brothers: Allen, B.J., Gerald, Lloyd, Donald and Carey; and his sisters: Marjorie, Geraldine, Dorothy, Merlyn and Florence. Ralph is survived by, as he would have called them, his wonderful kids: Angela Ruple, Ralph Dicharry Jr., Sherry Vanderslice, Brent Dicharry, Keith Dicharry, David Ruple, Gizelle Dicharry, Peter Vanderslice and Theresa Dicharry. Ralph is also survived by his 11 grandchildren: Dusten, Chris, Josh, Jena, Chase, Ethan, Holly, Kieran, Olivia, Sadie and Zachary. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Tramonte, and a brother, Roy Dicharry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley Oubre Dicharry, a resident of Lutcher, passed away peacefully Monday, April 11, 2011. She was 74 and retired from St. James Parish Health Department. Shirley has been a longtime active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and on various parish committees. She had a very strong faith and was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Leona Oubre; two brothers, Henry Oubre Jr. and Nolan Oubre; and two sisters, Doris Calcagno and Madeline Marino. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ralph J. Dicharry Sr.; and children, Angela Ruple, her husband, David, and their son, Christopher; Ralph J. Dicharry Jr. and his children, Holly, Olivia and Zachery; Sherry Vanderslice, her husband, Peter, and their children, Joshua, Ethan and Kieran; Brent Dicharry and his children, Dustin, Chase and Sadie; and Keith Dicharry, Theresa and her daughter, Jena. She is also survived by her sisters, Earlene Guidry and Teresa Gueret; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she cherished as much as her own children and grandchildren. Eddie A. Domingue

LAPLACE, La. - Eddie A. Domingue drowned about 7 a.m. Saturday when the small boat in which he was riding overturned in Blind River. St. James Parish officers said Domingue started swimming to shore after the accident but suddenly disappeared beneath the water. His body was recovered.at 1:.30 p.m. Domingue, a. native of Garyville and a resident of LaPlace, employed by an industrial firm in Kenner. Survivors include his widow, the former Rose Marie Roper, Lutcher; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Domingue, LaPlace; son-and two daughters. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Jean Donadieu

Jean Donadieu, a native of Gramercy, passed away at his home on May 18, 2021 at the age of 79. Jean was a military veteran who served in the Vietnam War. While stationed in Pennsylvania, Jean would often travel to surrounding states to work funeral details for veterans. He was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything and very much enjoyed working on cars. A Loving message from his family: "You'll never be forgotten, In my heart you will be, As long as I am living, I'll carry you with me. " He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie Bixler Donadieu. Jean and Connie married on April 26, 1969 in St. Vincent's Church in Minersville, PA. He is also survived by his children, John (Vikki), Matthew (Claire), Ryan (Katie) and Shelley; grandchildren, Mason, Jordan, Alexandra, Cassidy, Samantha, Abby, Connor, and Rylan; siblings, Fernand (Martha) Donadieu and Aime Donadieu. Barry James Duhe, age 64 passed away on November 14th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Lutcher, LA and a resident of Paulina, LA. JULY 25, 1946 - SEPTEMBER 2, 2020
Catha Elise Gaines Duhe, 74, peacefully entered eternal rest at her home in Gonzales, LA. on Tuesday, September 2, 2020, with her husband and children by her side. She was born on July 25, 1946 in Baton Rouge, LA by her parents, the late Alphred Alverson Gaines and Grace Lee Catha Gaines, and her sister, the late Mary Ann Laurent. Catha was a 1964 graduate of Baton Rouge High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University followed by a Master of Education from LSU. She was a Kindergarten teacher in the Ascension Parish School system, teaching at St. Amant Elementary and then Lake Elementary before her retirement in 2003 after 33 years of teaching. She loved her career as a teacher and the lifelong friendships she made amongst her coworkers. After retirement, becoming a "Mema" to her 7 beautiful grandchildren became her greatest joy, as well as a passion for scrapbooking to which she lovingly created numerous books of memories for her family that will always be cherished. Catha is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Rayford James "R.J." Duhe; three children: Randy Duhe (Jennifer) of Prairieville, LA, Michael Duhe (Kyla) of Walker, LA, and Leigh Ann Duhe-Heinse (Matt) of Baton Rouge, LA.; and 7 grandchildren: Marcus Heinse, Matthew Heinse, Jonas Duhe, Julian Duhe, Abram Duhe, Maher Heinse, and Rosalie Duhe. Sharing with her immediate family in mourning are many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends. Charles Duhe, Sr.

January 9, 1935 - March 17, 2019
Charles "Charlie" Duhe, Sr. born January 9, 1935 passed away on March 17, 2019 at the age of 84 years old. He was a native and resident of Lutcher, LA. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing as well as bird watching. He enjoyed working with sinker cypress wood and would craft paddles, shingles and bird houses from it. Many referred to him as the "Mayor" of the Blind River, and his camp was his second home. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, the St. James Boat Club, St. James Historical Society and the founder of the Lutcher-Moore Scholarship of St. James Parish. He worked for many years for the Shell Chemical Plant in Norco, where he retired. He was a loving father, devoted husband and the most attentive grandfather to his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his sons, Charles "Chuck" Duhe and wife Charla, Jimmy Duhe and wife Arlean; daughters, Gail Zeringue and husband Tommy, Cindy Daigle and husband Brent, Janet Acosta and husband Mark, Marybeth Berthelot and husband Joe; brothers, Anthony, Wayne, Clark and Rayford "RJ" Duhe; sisters, Vivian Waguespack and Marie Detillier. Claude A. Duhe, a native of Lutcher [Baptism Record has birthplace as Paulina], Louisiana, and a resident of Gramercy, Louisiana, for 30 years died at Gramercy on Wednesday 20 Aug 1958 at age 67 years. He was the husband by first marriage of the late Electa Borne and by second marriage of Ella St Pierre. He was the father of Norman, Allen, Kramer, Kenneth, Lester, Milton, C J and Betty Duhe, Mrs Numa Louque, Mrs Albert Kollman, Mrs Ulrick Copponex, Mrs George Copponex Jr, Mrs Marian Gagliano, Mrs Clarence Millet and Mrs John Sanchez. Jacob Duhe

Jacob Duhe was born on June 21, 2002 and passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the age of 16. He was loved by all. He brought a smile and a hug to everyone he crossed paths. He was a happy young man who loved his life and family. Gone too soon, but will never be forgotten. Lillian Martin Duhe, a homemaker, died Monday of undetermined causes at her home. She was 66. Mrs. Duhe was born in Grand Point and was a lifelong resident of Lutcher. She was a graduate of Lutcher High School. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and the St. James Historical Society. Survivors include her husband, Charles J. Duhe Sr.; two sons, Charles J. Duhe Jr. and James M. Duhe Sr.; four daughters, Gail D. Zeringue, Cindy D. Daigle, Janet D. Maurice A. Duhe

Maurice Duhe died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at age 80, at Southeast War Veterans home in Reserve. He was the son of the late Tristan Duhe and Martha Frederic Duhe, and brother of Janice Cox, Marie Elise Blankenship and Rita Veron. Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Marguerite Barrios, Robert Duhe, Larry Duhe, Mazie Martin, Rosemary "Rose" Matherne, Thomas "Tommy" Duhe and Richard Duhe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Maurice was a native of Lutcher and a U.S. Army infantryman from 1950 to 1952 in the Korean Conflict. After returning home from war, he worked as a laborer in the shipping department and granulator divisions of Colonial Sugar. He enjoyed raising birds of all kinds and light gardening. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Melvin Pierre "Coot" Duhe, a native and lifelong resident of Lutcher, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at age 75. Beloved father, papa, brother, uncle and mentor to many during his life. He graduated from Lutcher High School in 1961, attended and played football at Southeastern University, and served in the U. S. Reserve National Guard. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener, and he loved sports and the outdoors. Melvin is survived by his three children, Kelli D. Pfeifer (Kevin), John D. He was the son of the late Tristan and Martha Frederick Duhe, and brother of Rose Matherne, Rita Veron, Elise Blankenship, Janice Cox, Richard and Morris Duhe, and the late Marguerite Barrios, Larry and Tommy Duhe. Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

Violet (Ordoyne) Duhe

Violet Ordoyne Duhe (known to many as "Purple" or "Mrs. Vee") passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was born in Lutcher, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. James Parish. She was a member of the 3 Ells Club, the Catholic Daughters, the St. James Boat Club, Louisiana Homemakers of St. James Parish, and Sacred Heart Church and volunteered regularly at St. Vincent de Paul and other organizations throughout the parish. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, travelling to the mountains of Tennessee, spending time with her family, finding a good bargain, and cooking her favorite recipes. Her presence will be missed by many but her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. Violet is survived by her siblings, Velda Michel, Jean Davenport, and Richard Ordoyne (Jan), her children, Andrew Duhe (Paula), Adam Duhe (Lisa Carpenter), Alex Duhe (Susan), Ann "Sissy" Jeansonne (Glen), and Abby Guillot (Ted), her grandchildren, Dillan Duhe (Janean), Brandon Duhe, Sara Duhe, Ty Jeansonne, and Demi Jeansonne, and her great-grandchildren, Carter Duhe and Lindon Williams, Jr. (her "Sweetie Pie"). Her late husband, Claude "CJ" Duhe, parents Alton and Gracie Ordoyne, sister, Yvonne Cunningham, and brother Alton "Poochie" Ordoyne, Jr., were waiting to greet her after her passing. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016, at Sacred Heart Church in Gramercy. Visitation will begin at 8:00am with a funeral mass beginning at 11:00am. Entombment will be held at St. Joseph Mausoleum immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Lynn Funeral Home. Mary Roussel Dupepe, age 95, a native of St. James, LA and a resident of Lutcher, LA, passed away on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home. Mary was a World War II Army Veteran and a retiree of the Pontchartrain Levee Board. She was a devout Catholic, who led a fulfilling life caring for the needs of others. She was an avid walker who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as drinking coffee with family and friends, taking care of her cats, and sitting on her swing. She is survived by her five children, Roy, Van and his wife Corinne, Bruce and his wife Monica, Kevin, and Arlene and her husband Michael; her grandchildren, Monique Simoneaux, Sara Smith, Maggie Landry, Brett Dupepe, Bart Dupepe, Clint Dupepe, Michael Nassar Jr., Mary Nassar, and Lee Nassar; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Alvin Dupepe; grandson, Matthew Dupepe; parents, Arthur and Theolia M. Babin; and birth parents Henry and Inez Matherne Roussel. She was the beloved wife for 54 years to the late Eldred "Dupe" Duplessis. She is survived by three daughters, Pat and her husband Byron Vicknair of Prairieville, Brenda and her husband Randy Louque of Paulina, and Elaine and the late Donald "Blackie" Landry of Ponchatoula. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Angela Louque Evans (husband Andrew), Leigh Louque, Kimberly Landry Coates (husband Steve), Kelly Landry, and Jason Vicknair, five great-grandchildren Storm, Quade, and Jazzmin Coates, Kali Lowery, Tytus Brumley, two sisters Edna Melancon and Lucille Babin and sister-in-law Doris Braud. DUPUY PAULINA - Russell J. "Khaki" Dupuy, 81, a native of Paulina and a resident of Lutcher died July 29. He was the husband of Zula S. Dupuy and the father of Gwendolyn Rizzuto of Grand Point, Lynette Hidalgo of Paulina, Mary Chambless of St. Amant, James Dupuy and Timothy Dupuy, both of Birmingham, Ala., and Patrick Dupuy and Patricia Dupuy, both of Lutcher. He was the son of the late Samuel Dupuy Sr. and Azema R. Dupuy and the brother of Emily Bonnette of Baton Rouge and Alice M. Dupuy of Norco. He was the grandfather of 13 grandchildren and the great-grandfather of five great-grandchildren. He was a retired employee of Shell Oil Co. in Norco and a member of VFW Post No. 5852 and Company I, 302nd Infantry, 94th Division. Services will be today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Interment will be in the church mausoleum under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher. Edward Beckham East, Sr.

Kenai [Alaska] resident Edward Beckham East, Sr., died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna. He was 84. Mr. East Sr. was born Mar. 9, 1926 in Bessemer, Alabama. He graduated high school and attended college and technical schools. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until retiring in 1964. He then worked for the Federal Marshall Service from 1964 to 1986, when he retired. He was a licensed pilot and held an amateur radio license, "W4BJR." "Weep not for this special man. He is at peace. Our lives he touched in many special ways. Take this with you, his love of God, country and family. Share his kindness with a stranger. Dad never met a stranger. Hold your loved ones as he held us. Dad traveled the world, defended his country, and made Alaska his home for a short while. He is missed. He loved his new family at Central Peninsula Hospital, Babe, Honey, Sugar, Med/Surg nurses, respiratory therapists and CNAs were this and more. He loved you all." Aurelia Madere Encale died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in Prairieville. She was 89, a native of LaPlace and a former resident of Lutcher. Visiting at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, on Friday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Entombment in the church mausoleum. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Paulette Braud, and Charlotte and Marvin Evans; two sisters, Nadge Druin and Myrtle Dallas; and two grandchildren, Eric Evans and wife Amy Evans, and Christopher Braud. Died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at the home of his son, Fritz Englade, in Gonzales at 1:42 p.m. He was the beloved husband of the late Petrona "Petty" Perdoma Englade; father and father-in-law of Lalita E. and Raymond Poche, Clay Albert Jr. and Phyllis Englade, Myrna E. and Percy Detillier of Lutcher, and W.J. "Fritz" and Marcelle Englade of Gonzales. He was born on Welham Plantation, son of the late Wilfred Englade and Uranie Jacob Englade. He was 96 years old. Survived by a sister, Ethel Englade Bossier, Reserve; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandson, Clay A. Englade III. He was a retired businessman in the River Parishes, where he managed Lutcher Wholesale Grocery Co. and was the co-founder of Gonzales Products Co. (Blue Runner) in Gonzales. He was a lifelong resident of the Lutcher-Gramercy area, a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Gramercy, a charter member of Lutcher-Gramercy Lions Club where he held several offices, longtime member of Knights of Columbus Council 1817 and Archbishop Blenk General Assembly 318 of 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Warner Sylvester Esneault

Also known as "Na-Coo", Warner passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at 11:45 a.m. at his daughter's home in Baton Rouge. He was 77 years old. He resided in Gramercy his entire life. He was a member of Sacred Heart and St Joseph Catholic Church and VFW Post 5282. He received a Purple Heart while serving in World War II in Company C, 63rd Division, 253rd Infantry. He was retired from Kaiser Chemical in Gramercy. He is survived by his two daughters, a son-in-law, three granddaughters, and a sister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Lassere Esneault; his parents, Jules and Lydia Esneault; two sisters, Beryl Bergeron and Lydia Stewart; and a brother, Jules Esneault Jr. Family and friends may pay their respects in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday prior to the full military funeral Mass at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Kathleen (Williams) Johnson

Kathleen Williams Johnson, a librarian at the St. James Public Library and in the St. James public school system, died Friday from undetermined causes at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. She was 53. Mrs. Johnson was born in Gramercy and lived in Lutcher. Survivors include her husband, Edward Johnson; a daughter, DeAnn Johnson; a son, Edward Johnson; two sisters, Carolyn Gaines and Linda Bailey, both of Gramercy; and two brothers, Percy Williams of Gramercy and Clarence Williams of Silver Springs, Md. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at First Community Antioch Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Paulina. Tites Emile Johnson Sr.

JOHNSON PAULINA - Tites Emile Johnson Sr., 65, a native and resident of Gramercy, died March 2. He was the father of Carmen, Vann and Tites Johnson Jr.; Conelly, Jonathan, Jason and Gary Mitzell and the late Reginald Brown. He was also the son of Evella Johnson and the late Isaac Johnson Sr. and brother of Wanda Banks, Murnell Hartton, Iona Sigue, Julia Sabaste, Delores, Odessa and Isaac Johnson Jr. and the late Shirley Aubert. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren. Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church, Paulina, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

Kentrall Jones

Kentrall (Nu-Nu) Jones, age 33, a construction worker, departed this life on Saturday August 16, 2008, in Laplace. Son of Joseph Jones, Juanita Isom Lee and Gaston Lee. Brother of Darnell Sr., Joseph Jr., Rendall, and D'Neil Jones, Tremeka Robinson, Trynell Fleming, and Kenyatta Breaux. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, sisters- and brother-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A native of Garyville and resident of Lutcher and Laplace. Visitation and services were held at Evergreen Baptist Church in Paulina on Saturday, August 23. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina.

Mildred (Morris) Jones

Mildred Morris Jones, a homemaker, died Saturday at her home. She was 79. Mrs. Jones was born in Welham and lived in Paulina. Survivors include four daughters, Lois Moore, Brenda Manuel, Joyce Jacques and Yolanda Williams; six sons, Samuel Jones Jr. and Bernard, Cadera, Rodney, Arnold and Derek Lee Jones; a sister, Shirley Mae Cook; three brothers, Lionel and Leonard Morris and Louis Morris Jr.; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 3143 Louisiana 642 in Paulina. A native of Gramercy and a resident of New Orleans, she died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center, New Orleans. She was 57. Visiting at Golden Grove Baptist Church, Gramercy, from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Herbert Gordon and the Rev. Samuel Blake. Victor Keller

Victor Keller, a truck driver, died Monday of undetermined causes at River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace. He was 62. Mr. Keller was born in New Orleans and lived in Paulina for 28 years. Survivors include his wife, Velma Keller; a stepson, Sidney St. Pierre of New Orleans; two stepdaughters, Tina St. Pierre and Rose Louque, both of New Orleans; a brother, Charles Durapall of Patterson; a stepbrother, Edmond Pecot of Slidell; and a grandchild. Karen (Cascio) Koenig

Karen Cascio Koenig, 58, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008. She was a native and resident of Lutcher. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Koenig; two sons, Adam and Joshua Koenig; mother, Corine Giardina Cascio; brother, Sammy Joseph Cascio; and sister, Donna Cascio. Preceded in death by her father, Sam Anthony Cascio. She was a loving wife and mother who loved family life. She was employed by Basic Industries for the past 12 years. Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, on Friday, July 18, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Kerry LaGrange, an operator at Monsanto Chemical Co. in Luling, died Wednesday of cancer at his home. He was 50. Mr. LaGrange was a native of Edgard and lived in Lutcher. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Barney LaGrange of Lutcher; his father, Joseph LaGrange of Edgard; two daughters, Konetha and KaShane LaGrange; a sister, Deola LaGrange of Edgard; and three brothers, Ricky and Ray LaGrange, both of Edgard and Glenn LaGrange of Gretna.
