Shirley Ann "Sis" Brasseaux was born on August 5, 1940 in Carencro, LA. On August 5, 1955 she married Jessie Courville, recently celebrating 58 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband, Jessie Courville, their children, Patricia Shanahan (Dale), Pamela Courville (Dave Coyle), David Courville (Donna), Jessie Courville (Jimmy Melton), and Mark Courville (Michelle); grandchildren Renee', Rachelle, Jessica, Nicole, Sissy, Tracey, Stephanie, Victoria, and Katelyn; and great grandchildren Chelsea, Gabrielle, Lance, Jeffery, Rebecca, Hannah, Tyler, Haven, Jacob, Bill, Loghan, and Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents Isaac and Andrea Brasseaux, brothers Easton, Jeffery, Duras, Stanley and sister Bertha (Meche). Sis was a fun-loving person who enjoyed camping, cooking, and fishing in Grand Isle with her family and friends. She was proud of her extensive family, and enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could. Shirley is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by those who knew her best, her family and friends. Last Saturday, 1 Mar 1879, Samuel John Cox, a native of Linn, England, died aged about 50 years. Cox lived in St John the Baptist Parish for 25 years. He was a house painter and had painted almost all signs that can be seen in St John the Baptist Parish. He married a Miss Josephine Walters in 1857 and from this union came from a large family. His wife, a victim of yellow fever, had preceded him in death by a few months.

DOTTOLO, PAUL ANTHONY - A resident of Springfield, he died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at his home after an extended illness. Family and friends were welcomed to a public visitation which was held on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Robert Perry, upon request of the deceased. Interment took place in St. Peter's Cemetery, Reserve, following the funeral mass. Survived by six siblings, Susan Dottolo Zewe, Hammond, Peter J. Albertha Rita (Harris) Henderson

Albertha "Pinky" Rita Henderson, an 80-year-old lifelong resident of Reserve, LA, transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, in Jefferson, LA. She was born on December 6, 1938, to the late Lillian M. and the late Henry Harris, Sr. She was the beloved wife of Robert "Toby" Henderson for the past 56 years. She was a loving mother to Libby Henderson-Ducre. She was the devoted grandmother of Kai (Edward) Thomas-Dunn and Niya (Kenney) D. Stevens. "Pinky" was a doting great grandmother to Kennedy D. Carr, Kenney D. Carr, and Kyra D. Carr. One surrogate son, Dr. Ronal Dorris Ph.D. One sister, Elouise D. Morris, one aunt, Genevia Shepard, one godbrother, Wilfred Wallace, Sr. Also survived by a host of nieces, six godchildren, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at New Wine Worship Center, 1929 W. Airline Hwy at 11:00 a.m. in LaPlace, LA. Pastor Neil Bernard, officiating. A final visitation/viewing will be held, beginning at 10 o'clock in the morning with the funeral immediately following. Shirley Millet Heurtin passed away June 15, 2023, at the age of 97. A native and lifelong resident of Montz, LA she was preceded in death by her parents, Nemoure "Sport" Millet and Winnie Dufresne Millet, her loving husband, Leon J. Heurtin, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her son, Derrill Heurtin (Pat), daughter, Debbie Brannan (Bob), five step- grandchildren, sisters, Elaine Matherne and Margaret Simoneaux (Harold), as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Eleanore Schexnayder Hofmann passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the age of 96. She was born and raised in Reserve, LA. Eleanore enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Buddy, and hosting holiday events with her family. She had a love for cooking and spending time laughing with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, August "Buddy" Hofmann, parents, 5 sisters, 1 brother and 2 grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Wayne Hofmann (Becky), Steven Hofmann (Donna), Barbara Hofmann Christopher (Jerry), and Ritchie Hofmann (Wanda). Cecile Webre Holmes, 98, a resident of Reserve La. and a native of Edgard La. Was called to eternal rest on March 31, 2013 at 4:30p.m. at her home in Reserve La. surrounded by her family. Bonnie Palermo died peacefully on Friday April 11, 2014. She was born on January 7, 1958 in New Orleans, LA. Beloved mother of Adam Struppeck. Nick William Pastrano

Nick William Pastrano passed away November 15, 2024 at his home in Metairie, LA, he was 64 years old. Born on June 25, 1960 in Miami Beach, he was a New Orleans native and Warren Easton High School graduate. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 270 as a transport driver for over 35 years. He found joy in prayer and strength in the Holy Saints; now may he find eternal peace in God's presence. He is survived by his mother Faye Finn Pastrano, siblings Donna (Jack), Frank (Rita), Angelo, Star Raffield (Angie), Tanya Mintz (Paris) and Misty Salgado (Douglas). Ellis Joseph Perilloux passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the age of 81. He was born in LaPlace, LA where he spent his entire life. A welder by trade, he was also an avid outdoorsman who spent every available free moment in the swamps and waterways of our area. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Lois Clement Perilloux, his mother Inez "Nook" Perilloux, and his brother Arlen J. Perilloux (Jeanne). He is survived by his father Joseph S. Joseph Mederic Perilloux

Joseph Mederic Perilloux, son of Jacque Oscar Perilloux and Marie Emma Millet, was born in 1872 at Lions in St. John the Baptist Parish. He was christened at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Reserve, where he married Julia DesRoche, daughter Marie Anaise Picou and Jules DesRoche, in 1894. In 1898 they moved to Woodland Plantation on Jefferson Highway near Augustin Lasseigne's home in LaPlace. Perilloux was a blacksmith for Woodland Plantation during the summer months and a mill supervisor for the plantation's sugar mill during cane grinding season. The mill was on land that is now Cardinal Street near near the former Roussel's Restaurant. They were the parents of 13 children. Perilloux died in 1932; his wife died in 1963. They were buried at St. Peter's Cemetery in Reserve.

Mabel Cicet Perilloux, a native and lifelong resident of Laplace, Louisians, died Thursday 15 Mar 1984 at 8:15 am at age 74 years. She was the wife of the late Emile Perilloux Sr and the mother of Emile Perilloux Jr and Joseph L Perilloux of Laplace, Louisiana. She was the daughter of the late Leonce Cicet and Zoe Roussell and sister of Nicholas Cicet of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 1 niece and 2 nephews. Marcellin Perilloux

We have the grief to record the untimely and one of our most active and thriving planters, Mr. Marcellin Perilloux. Last Friday, whilst at dinner, Mr. Perilloux felt a sudden pain in the chest, and blood rushed to his mouth. He retired to bed and died a few minutes after. His sudden death was occasioned by the rupture of a blood vessel.

On Friday the 13th of this month, at 6 o'clock in the morning, Mme. P. Didier Périlloux, born Marie Odile Millet, aged 24 years, 9 months, and 17 days, passed away on the left bank. Her funeral took place the following morning at 9 o'clock at St. Pierre Church, amidst a large gathering of relatives and friends. Mme. Périlloux died almost suddenly, having suffered from a heart disease. She leaves to mourn her husband and a young child. Our condolences to the family.

Lorraine Wilton Rassat passed peacefully at her residence on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the age of 82. She was a native and lifelong resident of LaPlace. Beloved wife of Arlen "Razz" J. Paul R. Reine

DIED
Mr. Paul R. Reine, a native and life-long resident of this parish, died at his home at Reserve Monday night, December 19, at 9:35 o'clock, following a long illness. Deceased was 77 years old and besides his widow, he leaves several children, all grown, to mourn his sad demise. Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Church Tuesday afternoon, with interment in the local cemetery.

Prentice R. Reine

Died Saturday, November 2, 1918, at 11:40 a.m., Prentice R. Reine, aged 21 years, 2 months and 23 days. He leaves to mourn his loss his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reine, four [five] sisters, Mesdames J. C. Oubre and L. Falcon, Misses Lucille, Norma and Julia Reine, and two brothers, Sidney and Charles; the first is now in France. Prentice was employed as a chemist at the Reserve factory where he had worked for five years and was loved and esteemed by everyone, as he was very good and possessed fine qualities and had a large number of friends.
