July 18, 1944 ~ July 20, 2025 81 Years Old

John E. Rogan passed away on July 20, 2025, at his daughter's home in Baton Rouge, LA, at the age of 81.

John was born in Tallulah, LA on July 18, 1944, the son of George W. and Lottie Petty Rogan. He was a graduate of Tallulah High School. He attended Dallas Institute-Gupton Jones where he earned his degree in Mortuary Science in 1966. He served as a Mortician for 57 years and retired from Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. He then moved to Baton Rouge to be with his daughter. He was a gun enthusiast and animal lover. He loved history, reading, going to church and going out to eat.

John was preceded in death by his wife Martha, and his siblings Thomas, Lloyd, Jimmy, George, Irene and Ruth.

He is survived by his daughter Sarah Duet (Brandon), son John "Adam" Rogan (Candace Pettway), brother Gerald Rogan, sister Faye Lane, and grandchildren Owen Watts and Maren Watts.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason Lupo officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Doug Huskey, Allan Leese, Bill Mobley, Jr., Vinnie Testa, Bodie McDonald, Taylor Greene and Roger Cresswell. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Fondren, John Kamman and William Wilmoth.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregiver Rebecca Sanders.
