The following was taken from the Bible at Wesley Chapel
Methodist Church in the
Darlington, La. community:
Died February 6, 1905, at 1:45 p.m., at her residence in
Darlington, La.,
Mrs. Maria Taylor Pipkin, wife of Judge
L.M. Pipkin, aged 73 years, 6 months and 18 days
She died in Beauty like a rose bloom from its parent stem
She died in Beauty like a pearl dropped from some diadem;
She died in Beauty like a boy along a moonlit lake;
She died in Beauty like the song of birds amid the brake,
She died in Beauty like the snow of flowers dissolved away
She died in Beauty like a star lost on the brow of day
She lived in Glory like the night gems
Set round
the silver moon
She lived in Glory like the Sun amid the
blue of June.
Her remains were buried in the Clinton-Pipkin Cemetery about 1
mile northwest
of Darlington Methodist Church, Chipola,
La., Feb 19, 1905 at 12m---
