Terrebonne Parish GenWeb
LaGenWeb
My name is Kimberly Taylor Morgan and I'm the new County Coordinator for Terrebonne Parish as of Jun 2025. I do not live in the state but please let me know if I can assist you, I will do my best. I hope you enjoy your visit and please email me if you have any suggestions or contributions you would like to make.
One of the southernmost of Louisiana's parishes, Terrebonne Parish was established on March 22, 1822, from the southern part of Lafourche Interior, bordering on the Gulf of Mexico. Covering an area of 2100 square miles, it is the second-largest parish in the state. The early French settlers named the parish for the fertility of its soils: terre bonne means "good earth."
Many thanks to the former Parish Coordinator, Tim Hebert and to the Terrebonne Genealogical Society for their generous donation of materials!

My
name is Kimberly and I've been doing my family history for over 30
years. I found USGenWeb and Rootsweb in 1999 and became a
county coordinator for several counties. I wasn't able to
maintain the sites due to time constraints. I returned in Dec
2024 and have been heavily involved with various States but this is
my 1st Parish with LAGenWeb.
If you have questions, contributions, or problems with this site, please let us know, we're happy to assist!
