Babin, Octave Constant & Nathalie Evelina Gros Babin

Octave Babin was the son of Valentin Babin and Alvina Virginie Hebert He was born 5 Oct 1875 in Houma. He died 5 Nov 1900 in Terrebonne Parish at age 25. In the 1880 census, he is shown with his mother & father and 7 siblings, Eugene (16), Eugenie (14), Albert (12), Mary (10), James (8), Octave (6), Lufrey (3), Alexander (6/12).

Octave and Nathalie are buried in Halfway Cemetery.

He married Nathalie Evelina Gros in 1893 in Houma. In the 1900 census, he states that he has been married 7 years and is a swamper.

Nathalie Evelina Gros Babin is the daughter of Jean Baptiste Po-Pa" Gros and Marie Severine Marcel. She was born 30 Mar 1873 in Houma and died in 29 Aug 1903 Terrebonne Parish. Her siblings are Selma Victoria and Florence.

They are the parents of Glaise, Lucille, Calixte, Elda Claire.

Lucille Severine Babin was born in 1896 Terrebonne Parish, LA and died in 1991 Houma, Terrebonne Parish. She married Edward Danoudet Savoie in 1916 Schriever, Terrebonne  at St. Bridgette Church.

Comment: This couple died leaving four young children who were raised by Nathalie's parents.
