On October 27, 1827 William WATKINS and Evariste PORCHE, both Justices of the peace of Terrebonne Parish, have numbered this book, from first Pg. to Pg. Three hundred and twelve.

No. 757 3/484 On January 16, 1829, Richard G. ELLIS, who in the presence of the undersigned witnesses, considered the justification in an annual panel, in this office, on November 25, 1828, Book D (4), Pg. 424, sold, made over and delivered to Mrs. (widow) Henry C. THIBODAUX, a young mulatto boy, named Daniel, of about 15 years of age, which slave the said ELLIS warrants of defects, against all claims and diseased, provided for, whereof the said ELLIS, has here unto set his hand, in presence of Joseph DELAPORTE and Michel BERNARD.

No. 758 2/355 On January 16, 1829, la Dame Brigite BELANGER, widow Henry S. THIBODAUX, her agent Henry M. THIBODAUX and Domingue BADEAUX, of Thibodauxville, sold land to Michel BERNARD. Signed by Domingue BADAUX, Henry M. THIBODAUX, agent, Joseph DELAPORTE and Michel BERNARD.

No. 759 400 On January 24, 1829, before Leufroy BARRAS appeared Brigite BELANGER, widow Henry S. THIBODAUX, declared to have receiver of R. E. ELLIS, of this Parish, a young mulatto boy named Daniel, about 15 years of age, in consideration of a deed of sale, passed on the 25 day of November, 1828, No. 725 Book “D”, No. 423 and 424. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE.

No. 760 3/484 On January 20, 1829, Philippe M. SARGENTE, of this Parish, for the consideration for or in consideration, herein after specified, he has abandoned, transferred, made over and delivered, by these presents to Daniel GREENLEAF, late of Port Gibson, Mississippi, one tract of land situated in this Parish to wit; five arpens on the right side of Bayou Terrebonne, with a depth of ten arpens, and thirty arpens of depth on the left side, bounded above on the right side by Leufroy BARRAS and on the left by Auguste BABIN, bounded below on the right side by Habanike ARMAN, and on the left side by land of the widow Henry S. THIBODAUX, with all the improvements, there on. Stock consists of twenty four hogs, five horses, two yoke oxen, farming utensils of whatever kind and the following slaves, Bristo, a negro man about 35 years of age, Thornton, 35 years of age, Thomas, 23 years of age, Jack, 25 years of age, Leroy, 16 years of age, Alin, 11 years of age, Harrison, 8 years of age, Matilda, a negro wench 31 years of age, Emily, 40 years of age, Alina 9 months of age, all slaves for life, which said SARGENT warrants against all claims, but not against the bad defects, all for the sum of $10,000.00, payable in $2,000.00 payments, per year, for the next five years. No. 761 M./115 On January 28, 1829 Henry C. THIBODAUX, with “Bill of Sale”, dated October 1, 1825, for a tract of land of 10 arpens front on Bayou L’eau Bleue to Joseph DELAPORTE and P. M. SARGENT.

No. 762 On January 28, 1829 Antoine BAYE did abandon and delivered to Mrs. Henry S. THIBODAUX land on Bayou L’eau Bleue, containing 3 arpens front on Bayou L’eau Bleue. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE and Claiborne THIBODAUX.

No. 763 3/486 On February 28, 1829 Mrs. Brigite BELANGER, widow Henry S. THIBODAUX, declares that for the consideration of $1,500.00, sold, abandons, transfers, made over and promised to deliver January 1, 1830 to Daniel GREENLEAF, late of Port Gibson, Mississippi, now of this Parish, to wit; a certain tract of land, situate about five miles from, village of Thibodauxville, on the left side of Bayou Terrebonne, containing five arpens, with thirty arpens depth, bounded on north side by land, sold this day by Philippe M. SARGENT to GREENLEAF and on South by land of Guillaume BERGERON, payable at $600.00 per year. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE and P. M. SARGENT.

No. 764 112A/10875 On January 28, 1829 Antoine BAYE sold land to Marie Denise BAYE, spouse of Jean Baptiste VERTIFAMILE and Pelagie C. BAYE spouse of Pierre DESROACHES, on Bayou L’eau Bleue. Signed by Antoine BAYE, Denise BAYE, Pelagie BAYE, Jean Baptiste VERTIFAMILE and Pierre THIBODAUX.

No. 765 On February 2, 1829, at the residence of Celestin BERGERON, for the succession of Marie Joseph BABIN, wife of Charles GAUDE, with help from Jean Baptiste LAPEYROUSE, judged the value of goods and property at $2927.50. Signed by C. B. WATKINS, Celestin BERGERON, P. M. DARCE, Joseph BABIN, Irene BABIN, Moline DUPRE, Constance GAUDIN and H. C. THIBODAUX.

No. 766 3/488 On February 5, 1829 Pierre LAMBERT and Charles BENOIT, on Bayou L’eau Bleue, valued the estate of Victor SILVE. Jean Baptiste BEAUSARGENT, at auction, sold all of the goods. Witnessed by Evariste PORCHE and Cable B. WATKINS. Signed by Pierre LAMBERT and Charles BENOIT.

No. 767 3/489 On March 20, 1802 Henry S. THIBODAUX sold, abandoned and delivered to Joseph CHATAGNIER and Hypolite CHATAGNIER, in a private act, land on Bayou Terrebonne bounded above by land of Jean MARONGE and below by land of Joseph CHATAGNIER and Hypolite CHATAGNIER, with payments extended over several years. Witnessed by A. H. VERRET and J. B. MARTIN.

No. 768 112A/10876 On March 30, 1825 Henry S. THIBODAUX sold land to Joseph CHATAGNIER and Hypolite CHATAGNIER. Witnessed by A. H. VERRET, A. B. MARTIN. (filed February 6, 1829)

No. 769 4/490 On February 12, 1829 Claire MINSON, widow Francois ROGER, of Thibodauxville, abandoned, transferred, made over and delivered to and unto James HALL, a certain tract of land of 3 arpens fronting on both sides of Bayou Terrebonne, with 4 arpens depth on each side, bounded above by land of Claiborne WATKINS, on the left side, and below by the estate of Elise MENANE, wife of Leufroy BARRAS, for $350.00. Witnessed by Auguste H. VERRET and Thomas C. DULLIS. Signed by Claire MINSON, widow Francois ROGER and Thomas HALL,.

No. 770 3/490 On February 12, 1829 Jean Baptiste GUIDRY sold land to Edward RATCLIFF to wit; land about 9 miles from Thibodauxville, 2 arpens front, more or less, with such depth as the Certificate of Confirmation calls for, in consideration of $600.00, $400.00 of which shall be paid over several years. Witnessed by Evariste PORCHE and Samuel N. RATCLIFF.

No. 771 3/491 On February 12, 1929 Jacques ADAMS and wife Julie A. HOTARD, both of this Parish, by these presents, sold abandoned, transferred, made over and delivered to Edouard RATCLIFF a certain tract of land situate in this Parish, about 9 miles from Thibodauxville, containing two arpens front, more or less, on Bayou Terrebonne, with depth as the Certificate of Confirmation calls for, bounded above by land of Marcelin _____ and below by land of J. B. GUIDRY, for $800.00, with payment over several years. The ADAMS may live in the house they now occupy until March 1, 1829. Witnessed by Evariste PORCHE and Samuel N. RATCLIFF. No. 772 500 On February 13, 1829 Michel DeARMAS, Notary Public, in his office in the city of New Orleans, appeared Amingue DUPRIS giving full payment to Thomas Vickers BRISTO, domiciled in Bourg Chouest. Signed by Felix ARMAS, Notary Public.

No. 773 On February 13, 1829 John DeARMAS, Notary Public, at his office in New Orleans, appeared Adolph DUCROS, of St. Bernard Parish, Francois MALBROUGH, Adolph DUCROS. Adele DUCROS, Z. N.. Marcel DUCROS, Christopher DUCROS, Felin PERCY, Felin DeTHOMAS. Signed by Feline ARMAS, Notary Public, Antoine DUCROS and Judge Leufroy BARRAS. (This document was in French and I could not understand why these people were there, or why this was filed in Terrebonne Parish)

No. 774 On October 16, 1828 George G. GUION, Notary Public, in and for Concordia Parish appeared Stephen BOWIE, of Terrebonne Parish, attorney in fact of James BOWIE, for $2,000.00, to him in hand paid by John QUITMAN and John BELL, both of the city on Natchez, Mississippi grant, bargain, sold, convey and confirm to John A. QUITMAN and John BELL a certain tract of land to wit; 20 arpens front on the left bank of Bayou Grand Caillou, with 40 arpens in depth, it being part of a tract of land confirmed by the United States Congress, in the name of Louis COSLIER, and conveyed to James BOWIE, and on the right bank, land of Jean Charles TERRIOT, by him conveyed to Lemuel TANNER, who conveyed same to James BOWIE and Rideau KING. Witnessed by Walter BYRNES and B. J. TENNY.

No. 775 On February 9, 1829 James CAROTHERS received in hand from R. J. WALKER $550.00. in full payment, for 20 arpens of land situate on Bayou Little Terrebonne (Bayou Black), sold by me in August last. Witnessed James DUNCAN and Richard BACHE. Signed by James E. CAROTHERS, appeared Richard BACHE, attesting to the fact, as he had witnessed the transaction.

No. 776 On February 24, 1829 R. C. BAKERS does hereby sell and transfer to R. J. WALKER, land to wit; a certain tract of land in Terrebonne Parish, for cash in hand. Signed by R. C. BAKERS, Warreno FLECT and Roland BACHE, Notary Public.

No. 777 On February 19, 1829 Joseph BENOIT transferred title to a piece of land, 2 arpens front on Bayou Terrebonne, to Jean Baptiste GUIDRY, for carpenter work started April 22, 1828, and now completed. Witnessed by H. C. THIBODAUX and A. H. VERRET.

No. 778 On February 20, 1829 Shadrack Goins MOORE binds and obligates him self, by these presents, for Thomas LOVE Sr. to work his Moore Plantation, measuring 28 arpens on both sides of Bayou Terrebonne, for the term of one year, from this date. To furnish 4 arpens of seed, for the planting of cane on said plantation. The rest of the land is to be planted in corn. To furnish plow horses, 2 plows, 2 hoes, 1 harrow and 1 milk cow. To give up the building on his land on the left side of Bayou Terrebonne to Thomas LOVE, who on his part, obligates and binds himself to plant, cultivate and tend, with a sufficient number of hands, and to give up to Shadrack Goins MOORE the half of all the produce, and return said plantation one year after date, in good order. No. 779 On February 23, 1829 Jacques VERRET, legitimate son of Nicolas VERRET and Marie CANTRELLE, spouse of Elizabeth DUNERGER, sold land to Evariste PORCHE, Henry Michel THIBODAUX and Leandre B. THIBODAUX, proceeds of sale given to his legal heirs, Edouard, Eloise and Fincy VERRET, in an act of donation.

No. 780 On February 24, 1829 before John Nicholson DUNCAN, Notary Public in and for the city of New Orleans, Mrs. Brigite BELANGER, widow Henry S. THIBODAUX sells a negro named Tirac to Francois GIROD. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE and Augustin MONGEONT.

No. 781 On February 10, 1829 Pleasant B. COCKE sold to John HUTCHINSON land to wit; a tract of land being and situate on Bayou Grand Caillou, Parish of Terrebonne, Lafourche Interior, State of Louisiana, 3180 arpens for $18,360.00, with payments of $2,500.00 per year, bounded above by the lands of Thomas BUTLER and below by vacant land, part of original grant to Jumonville DeVILLIERS, 80 arpens in depth on right side , bounded above by lands of Thomas BAINTER and below by land of Angus McNEILL. Witnessed by George G. GUION and R. G. ELLIS.

No. 782 On July 27, 1829 Marguerite BERGERON wife of Jean Baptiste BREAUX. appeared with Napoleon GUIDRY, Alexandre GUIDRY, and Clemence GUIDRY and Mrs. Henry S. THIBODAUX, for her deceased husband, Henry S. THIBODAUX, who was the tutorix of the minor children, paid the amount of 320 piasters due them, from February 27, 1829. Witnessed by J. B. BEAUSARGENT and Joachim PORCHE.

No. 783 3/495 On September 9, 1829 appeared Mrs. Henry S. THIBODAUX, Marguerite BERGERON, wife of Jean Baptiste BREAUX, J. B. BEAUSARGENT, Joseph DELAPORTE, Joachim PORCHE, to settle the estate for Napoleon GUIDRY, Alexandre GUIDRY and Clemence GUIDRY, minor children.

No. 784 On February 23, 1829, persuant a decree of the Court of Probates, of this Parish, I have undertaken to have inventoried property belonging to the community of Louis DARBOIS and Carmelite BOURGEOIS, deceased. Appraised by Joseph DELAPORTE and Evariste PORCHE, in the presence of Leander B. THIBODAX and Bannon G. THIBODAUX, to wit; 0ne tract of land, three arpens front on right side of Bayou Terrebonne, with ten arpens in depth, bounded above by land of William TABOR and below by land of Mrs. Henry C. THIBODAUX, appraised at $250.00. This is the only property of the deceased. Attested by E. PORCHE and Joseph DELAPORTE.

No. 785 3/496 Marie Joseph MALBROUGH sold land to Jean Baptiste HEBERT to wit; land about 13 miles from Bayou Lafourche, bounded above by land of Nicolas LIRETTE and below by land of L. HARPER, to pay debts owed by Oscar LIRETTE. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE and A. H. VERRET. (filed February 28, 1829)

No. 786 3/497 On January 29, 1829 Brigite BELANGER, widow Henry S. THIBODAUX, sold, transferred, abandoned, turned over and delivered land, by these presents, to L. G. MOORE, accepting for himself, a certain piece of land, situated in this Parish, about 10 miles from Thibodauxville, containing 1 arpen, more or less, on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, bounded above, on the left bank by land of Joseph BENOIT and on the right bank by land of Charles BENOIT. Land warranted against all mortgages and claims, in consideration of $600.00. Mrs. THIBODAUX has special Power of Attorney, dated May 7, 1828. Witnessed by Augustin MONGEONT and Norbert BONVILLAIN.

No. 787 112A/10877 At New Orleans Francis GARDARE, treasurer of the State of Louisiana, after advertisement per act of March 20,1818, did sell at public auction, land intrusted to him, tax conveyor’s office, on second Monday in the month of February 1828, a certain tract or parcel of land, in the Parish of Terrebonne, measuring 1500 arpens, more or less. James MOONEY was the high bidder, with a bid of $9.00, all rights, titles, interest and claims, which Joseph HACHE had on December 31, 1825, or at any time since, in or to the above tract, for failure of payment, of the State taxes, for the year 1825, to present. I have set my hand this March 29, 1829. Signed by Francois GARDARE, treasurer of the State of Louisiana. For a value received, I do convey and transfer to Mrs. widow Henry S. THIBODAUX all my rights and titles to the tract of land mentioned in New Orleans March 1, 1829. Signed by James MOONEY. Recorded March 13, 1829.

No. 788 112A/10875 On December 9, 1828 Miss Louise TOUPS, daughter of George TOUPS sold land to R. G. ELLIS. Filed quit claim March 13, 1829. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE and J. DOZIER. No. 789 On March 17, 1829 Jean Baptiste GUIDRY sold land to Edward L. RATCLIFF. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE.

No. 790 3/501 On March 23, 1829 William HELM, of this Parish, in the presence of the undersigned witnesses, declared that for or in the consideration, herein after specified, he has sold, abandoned, transferred, made over and delivered to Lemuel TANNER, John, a negro man of about 24 years of age, Davis, another negro man, about 26 years of age and Lambert a young negro boy, about 7 years of age, all slaves for life, to which he warrants and defends against all claims, whatever, for $1,900.00, paid in the following manner; $60.00 cash, a note of Richard KING and James BOWIE of $1,000.00 payable March 1830, another note of A. and M. C. MC NEIL, for $650.00 payable March 1830 (note figures don’t add up). Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE and Z. N. RATCLIFF.

No. 791 3/502 On March 23, 1829 William HELM, of this Parish, declared that for the consideration here in after specified, he has sold, abandoned, transferred, made over and delivered to and unto Ursin PREVOST of this Parish, present accepting a negro man named George, of about the age of 25 years, a slave for life, which negro, the vendor warrants and defends against all claims, whatsoever. This sale is made for sum of $525.00, paid by the said PREVOST, in the following manner, $260.00 cash in hand and a note for $228.00 by Stephen BOWIE, dated March 23, 1829. Witnessed by L. TANNER and Z. N. RATCLIFF.

No. 792 3/503 On March 23, 1829 William HELM, of this Parish, declared that for the consideration here in after specified, he has sold, abandoned, transferred, made over and delivered by these presents to and unto Ursin Joseph PREVOST, of this Parish, a certain negro man named Frank, aged about 19 years, a slave for life, which the vendor warrants and defends against all claims, whatsoever, for $500.00, paid in the following manner, $120.00 cash in hand, a note of William BARROW, payable February 1830 for $140.00 and the remainder in a note of said PREVOST. Witnessed by Lemuel TANNER and Z. N. RATCLIFF.

No. 793 112A/10879 On March 9, 1829 William KING and Richard KING divide a certain tract of land, situated on Bayou Grand Caillou, containing 140 acres, purchased by Richard KING and James BOWIE purchased of Lemuel TANNER, in the following manner, to a middle line across the bayou, so as to divide the tract equally, the said William KING is to take the lower half, and if there is any difference in the value, in either half, the party owning the half with the most value, pays to the party owning the other half, the difference, of a fair evaluation on September 22, 1828. On March 9, 1829 appeared William KING, in the presence of the undersigned witnesses, declared to have a representative, his lawful attorney, Reason P. BOWIE, present, acting for him, in his name, to make a deed of conveyance, to John BELL and William B. BANNON, all the rights, titles and all that the said vendor had on a piece of land, which is the same tract or part of tract that Lemuel TANNER sold to James BOWIE and Richard KING (filed March 23, 1825).

No. 794 3/504 On March 28, 1829 Richard KING sold, abandoned, transferred, made over and delivered, by these presents, to Robert VALLSTON, of this parish, and accepting for himself, a certain piece of land, situate in this Parish, on Bayou Grand Caillou, to wit; six acres front, with a depth of 20 acres, made by James L. CAROTHERS, bounded above by land of vendor and below by land of William BARROW, vendor will warrant and defend land against all claims, for $400.00, land originally sold by Lemuel TANNER to James BOWIE and Richard KING, paid by draft of Reason P. BOWIE or William KING of Claiborne County, Mississippi. Witnessed by Reason P. BOWIE and Z. N. RATCLIFF.

No. 795 On March 28, 1829 Euphrosine AUNSAN sold land to Edward RATCLIFF, to wit; land bounded above by land of Mrs. Urban ARCENEAUX and below by land of Guillaume ANDRE. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE and Z. N. RATCLIFF.

No. 796 On February 26, 1822 Simon BERGERON bought a negro mammie named Therese, aged about 35 years, with children Alvire, Leufroy and Marie and he now delivers her and her children back to the estate of Henry S. THIBODAUX. Witnessed by P. CAGEANN and Joseph DELAPORTE.

No. 797 3/505 On March 30, Louis TOUPS sold land to James Edmond FANGUY, bounded above and below by land of Michel BILLIOT, a free man of colour. Witnessed by Joachim PORCHE.

No. 798 Pg. 59 On March 31, 1829 Joseph DELAPORTE, Auguste H. VERRET and Zachariah N. RATCLIFF appeared with Miss Constance GAUDIN, of this Parish, who being healthy of body and mind, as it appeared to us, and well persuaded of the frailty of human things, and of life, wanting to settle and arrange her business, in case of her death, declared to us, her will, just as follows. I name my executor Mr. Caleb B. WATKINS, of this Parish, by whom, I recommend the payments and acquittal of all my debts, also, I give and bequest to my sister, Fidelie GAUDIN, wife of Caleb B. WATKINS, all the property, that I might possess, upon my death, without any exception.

No. 800 On April 3, 1829 Francois JIRCUIT and Pierre BILLIOT, who have in my presence, declared by common consent, the act of sale passed between them on March 17, 1826, recorded Book C No. 356, Pgs. 142 and 143, null and void. Witnessed by W. J. H. LACY and Z. N. RATCLIFF.

No. 801 On April 6, 1829 Leufroy BARRAS went to the domicile of Stanislas BOUDREAU, accompanied by Auguste Hurtado VERRET and Henry C. THIBODAUX, witnesses, for the purpose of making an inventory. In the presence of Widow Louis PINEL, deputy-guardian of the minors under the age of adolescence, and August BOUDREAU, curator for Joseph Adrien BOUDREAU and Francois BOUDREAU, Antoine BAYE and Jean Baptiste VERTEFEUILLE, valued all property and goods at $848.62 1/2. Witnessed by Henry C. THIBODAUX and A. H. VERRET.

No. 805 112/A/10881 On April 22, 1829 Alexandre VERDUN made Mr. KIMPER, of the Parish of St. Mary, his general and special procurator, to present a petition to the Police Jury of St. Mary Parish, for the purpose of obtaining the permission to free three slaves, viz.: Melinday, mulatto age 9 years, Cadet, mulatto age 6 years and Alin, mulatto age 3 years, all children of Marcelitte, mulatto, to whom he has already given freedom. Witnessed by Pierre CHIASSON and Lewis LYNG.

No. 806 3/510 On April 22, 1829 Alexandre VERDUN, in consideration of the sum of $500.00 cash, hereby sells, cedes and abandons to Melanie, daughter of Marie GREGOIRE, land containing 5 arpens front on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, with depth as the certificate of confirmation calls for, bounded above by Pauline, free colored woman, and below by lands of vendor. Witnessed by Pierre CHIASSON and Lewis LYNG.

No. 807 3/511 On April 22, 1829 Alexandre VERDUN, in consideration of the sum of $500.00 cash, hereby sells, cedes and abandons to Felicite Marguerite, free colored daughter of Marie GREGOIRE, deceased, a piece of land 5 arpens front on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, with depth as the certificate of confirmation calls for, bounded above by land of Jean Baptiste, free young colored man, and below by land of Eulalie, free colored woman. Witnessed by Pierre CHIASSON and Lewis LYNG.

No. 808 3/513 On April 22, 1829 Alexandre VERDUN, in consideration of the sum of $500.00 cash, hereby sells, cedes and abandons to Jean Baptiste, son of deceased Marie GREGOIRE, a piece of land 5 arpens front on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, with depth as the certificate of confirmation calls for, bounded above by land of Victore and below by land of Felicite Marguerite. No. 809 3/512 On April 22, 1829 Alexandre VERDUN, in consideration of the sum of $500.00 cash, hereby sells, cedes and abandons to Victoire, son of Marie GREGOIRE, deceased, a piece of land 5 arpens front on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, with depth as the certificate of confirmation calls for, bounded above by land of vendor and below by land of Jean Baptiste. No.810 3/515 On April 22, 1829 Alexandre VERDUN, in consideration of the sum of $500.00 cash, he hereby sells, cedes and abandons to Ursin, son of Marie GREGOIRE, deceased, a piece of land 5 arpens front on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, with depth as the certificate of confirmation calls for, bounded above by land of Melanie, free colored girl, and below by land of vendor. No. 811 3/515 On April 22, 1829 Jacques BILLIOT, free colored man, for the sum of $50.00, well and duly paid to him, by the deceased Henry S. No. 865 Pgs. 153, 154 3/546 On September 21, 1829 Jean DUPRE, pere, and Ives NAQUIN, his wife, both of this parish, in order to repay the fidelity, the good services and good conduct of Ludevine, Mulatto, 25 years old and her son Vincent, a little quadroon 6 years old, their slaves, have freed and discharged from the yoke and ties of slavery and put from this day into the full peaceful and perpetual possession and enjoyment, of all the rights, privileges, advantages, capacities and exemptions, attached to the liberty of said Ludivine and Vincent, her son. No. 921 Pg. 253 3/581 1/2 On March 26, 1830 appeared Alexandre VERDUN, of this Parish, and Rosette BILLIOT, free colored woman, who declared the said Rosette BILLIOT, engaged herself in the service of Mr. VERDUN, for $100.00 per year. He makes a gift to her and gives her by this article, which can be called a “Codicil”, the sum of $1,000.00, which ought to be taken, on the succession of his death. No. 922 Pgs. 266, 256 On March 27, 1830, the following objects having been forgotten, when the inventory of the properties, of the succession of Constance BOUDREAU, is now listed: 1. One machine for cotton mill $45.00, 2. One Tarpaulin $6.00, 3. Two sections in the Partnership of Belanger Canal $30.00, 4. two spades $.75, 5. One bull $4.50, 6. No. 924 Pgs. 257, 258 3/585 On March 27, 1830 Jean DUPRE and Yve NAQUIN, his wife, both of this Parish, sold, ceded, abandoned, transported and delivered to Pierre CHIASSON a certain piece of land, situated in this Parish, about11 leagues from Bayou Lafourche, containing 7 1/2 arpens front, more or less, on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, all situated between the upper line of Jean Charles NAQUIN and lower line of Basile DUPRE, with a depth of 10 arpens on each side, also four horses and one bull, for $3,000.00, paid over time. If Jean DUPRE and his wife should find themselves inconvenienced to procure their provisions, the said CAZEAU obligates himself to advance them enough to procure them for themselves. Witnessed J. B. No. 925 Pgs. 925,926 3/587 On March 28, 1830 Jean Marie NAQUIN sold, ceded, abandoned and delivered land containing 2 1/2 arpens front on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, with depth as the Certificate of Confirmation calls for, bounded above by land of Rosalie NAQUIN and below by land of Gabriel LEBOEUF, to Pierre CHIASSON, in consideration of $250.00, paid in cash. Witnessed by Jn. Bte. MONIER and Joseph DELAPORTE.

No. 927 Pgs. 261, 262 On April 6, 1830 appeared Jean Baptiste BEAUSERGENT and lady Marguerite BERGERON, his wife, who acknowledged that they received from Jean Louis HEBERT $700.00, in consideration of a piece of land sold on July 12, 1828 No. 640, Book D, Pg. 321, and the withdrawal of the mortgage. Witnessed by Joseph DELAPORTE and Henry C. THIBODAUX.

No. 928 Pgs. 262, 263 3/588 On April 10, 1830 Pierre DESROCHES, by act passed March 30, 1825, he bought from the deceased Henry S. THIBODAUX, a piece of land on Bayou L’Bleue, containing 2 arpens front, on each side of said Bayou, bounded on one side by land of Antoine BAYE and on the other side by land of CHATANIER, for $200.00, payable at certain times, he hereby sells, abandons and retrocedes to the widow Mrs. H. S. THIBODAUX, executrix of the succession. Witnessed by A. H. VERRET and Augustin MONGEONT.

No. 929 Pgs. 203, 204 3/589 On March 30, 1830 Leufroy BARRAS sold, ceded, abandoned and delivered for $300.00 cash and $197.00 payable March 1831 to Joseph DELAPORTE a piece of land, situated in this Parish, about five miles from Bayou Lafourche, measuring one arpent front on right bank of Bayou Terrebonne, with such depth as the Certificate of Confirmation calls for, bounded above by widow Henry S. THIBODAUX, and below by land of the vendor. The piece of land here sold forms part of a large tract sold to Leufroy BARRAS by Mr. Jacques VERRET by act dated October 17, 1818. Witnessed by L. B. THIBODAUX and A. H. VERRET.

No. 933 Pgs. 268,269,270,271 On April 29, 1830 Judge Leufroy BARRAS was transported to the home of Andre GAUBERT, deceased residence and there at the request of Heloise VERRET, free colored woman, with whom the said GAUBERT lived, to make an inventory of properties of the deceased. Judge BARRAS named Francisco RODRIGUEZ and Jacques LABIT appraisers, in presence of William RODDY, Jr. and John CLARK, and assisted with, and in the presence of Louis VERRET, deputy guardian of the minor children of the said Heloise VERRET, to wit; one piece of land about three miles below Bayou Cane, two arpens front on each bank of Bayou Terrebonne, bounded above by land of R. W. WALKER and below by land of Heloise VERRET, with Fifteen arpens depth on each bank, valued at a total of $658.75. The deceased owed debts to Jacques LEBOEUF, Nathaniel FUQA, Joseph CLOUATRE, Florentin BOUDREAUX, Victor GAUBERT, LABADIE and DURAND and Company, Pierre DASPIT, Louis VERRET, John SARGENT, P. M. SARGENT, Dr. ROUANET, COLLINSWORTH, Jean ROUSSE, Laurent BROUSSARD, Jean M. PITRE, Dr. HALL and Leufroy BARRAS, for a total of $237.00.

No. 935 Pgs. 273, 274 3/592 On May 4, 1830 the heirs of Joseph BABIN and. Marguerite GAUDIN, deceased, namely Joseph Thomas BABIN, Iriene BABIN, Evariste BABIN and Felonise BABIN, represented by her husband, Celestin BERGERON, all majors, in order to facilitate Mr. Hypolite LANDRY, of Iberville Parish, their guardian, to effect the payment for a piece of land, that he sold to William MONTGOMERY, they deliver and transfers mortgage, which they have on said land. No. 937 Pg. 275 3/582 On March 26, 1830 Marianne LEBEUF, widow Narcis MARCEL declares that she has sold, ceded, given up and abandoned to Jean Baptiste MONIER, her son in law, one arpent of land, situated on left bank of Bayou Terrebonne, for $600.00, bounded below by land of Napoleon GUIDRY and above by land of the widow MARCEL.

No. 943 Pgs. 282,283 3/595 On June 1, 1830 Auguste ROGER, of Thibodauxville, declares that for and in consideration of the sum of $2,000.00, well and duly paid to him, before passing of these presents, he hereby sells, cedes, abandons and delivers to Henry M. THIBODAUX, land containing __ acres on Bayou Little Terrebonne, the whole half of a piece of land, which was confirmed under number __. Witnessed by C. B. WATKINS and Joseph DELAPORTE.

No. 944 Pgs. 283-285 3/596 On June 2, 1830 Hubert BELLANGER, inhabitant of this parish, declared that he had sold, ceded and abandoned to Pierre GAUTIER, here present, six lots of land, situated in the town of “New Port”, established on the upper part of the land, of the said BELLANGER and adjoining Bellanger Canal, being numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, according to a plan made by James L. CAROTHERS, dated May 1830, each lot has 70 feet front, with 80 feet in depth, being also on the land confirmed in the name of Etienne BILLIOT, who sold it to Henry S. THIBODAUX, who sold it to the present vendor, Hubert BELLANGER, for and in consideration of the sum of $200.00. Witnessed by E. PORCHE and Hypolite PORCHE.

No. 945 Pgs. 285, 286 3/601 On June 7, 1830 Guillaume BERGERON declared that he has sold, ceded and abandoned to the widow Mrs. Henry S. THIBODAUX a piece of land situated about two leagues from Bayou Lafourche, containing 3 arpens front, on the left bank of Bayou Terrebonne, by depth of concession, bounded above by land of Daniel GREENLEAF and below by land of Edouard SAVOIE, for $1,000.00, with $600.00 in cash and the remainder over time. Witnessed by S. G. MOORE and Augustin MONGEONT.

No. 947 Pg. 279 M. 1/139 On May 23, 1830 widow Nicolas LIRETTE, who declared that she had received at various times, from Jean Baptiste HEBERT, the sum of $260.00, in consideration of the sale of land passed February 28, 1829, giving by these presents general acquittance thereof.

No. 950 Pgs. 292-294 3/604 On June 8, 1830 Mrs. Magdeleine ANDRE, widow Urbain ARSENEAUX, of this Parish, declared that whereas Pierre CAZEAUX, of this Parish, has loaned her, at various times and different sums of money and even this day $300.00, she hereby affects and specially mortgage to Mr. CAZEAUX, the following slaves, viz: Remond, about 28 years of age, Etienne, about 28 years of age, Augustin, about 27 years of age, Antoine, about 36 years of age, Basile, about 18 years of age, Heloine, about 34 years of age, Mariane, about 40 years of age, Duclos, about 40 years of age, Marguerite, about 50 years of age, Marie, about 21 years of age and her child Therence, about 5 years of age, Lucie, about 40 years of age and her 3 children Florentin, about 9 years of age, Oreline, about 4 years of age, Clara, about 12 years of age, Clarice, about 12 years of age and Joe, about 10 years of age, all slaves for life. No. 951 Pgs. 294, 295 3/603 On June 8, 1830 widow Urbain ARSENEAUX declared that for and in consideration of the sum of $880.00, well and duly paid by Edouard RATCLIFF, she hereby sells, cedes, abandons and delivers two negro slaves, one named Yorie, about 20 years of age and the other named James, about 28 years of age. Witnessed by P. CAZEAUX and Charles DUPRE.

No. 952 Pgs. 295-297 3/602 On June 8, 1830 Charles DUPRE declared that he has sold, ceded, abandoned, conveyed and delivered to Edouard L. RATCLIFF a certain piece of land situated about five miles from Bellanger Canal, descending, containing 5 arpens front on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, with the depth of 10 arpens, on each side, bounded above by land of Joseph BOUDREAUX and below by land of Jerome DUPRE, being part of the concession of Jean DUPRE, pere, the whole sold without any reservations, except 4 arpens of maize, for $3,000.00. Witnessed by P. CAZEAUX and James A. BUFORT.

No. 953 Pg. 297 3/605 On June 14, 1830 Rosemond BERGERON and his wife Adelaide SILVIE declared they renounce the succession of the deceased Cecille BOUDREAUX. widow Pierre SILVE, deceased, repudiating definitively, the said succession. Witnessed by Lemuel TANNER and Joseph DELAPORTE.

No. 955 Pgs. 300, 301 M/150 On June 17, 1830 Carmelite HACHET, widow Joseph ROGER, declared that for and in consideration of $65.00, paid to her in cash, she has sold, ceded and transferred to Jean Pierre PITRE, a certain mortgage by Jacques LABI passed January 14, 1824, recorded Book B, No. 189 Pgs. 163, 164, 165. Witnessed by E. PORCHE and Joseph DELAPORTE.

No. 956 Pgs. 301, 302 3/608 On June 19, 1830 Henry M. THIBODAUX in consideration of the sum of $256.00, well and duly paid to him by Henry HYMEL, he hereby sells, cedes and delivers a certain young negress named Sally, about 12 years of age. Witnessed by Evariste PORCHE and Hubert BELLANGER.

No. 960 Pgs. 305, 306 3/612 On June 21, 1830 Pierre BILLIOT and Marie Jeanne DIANE, his wife, both free colored persons, declared that they have transferred to Mr. Joseph DELAPORTE, an obligation subscribed by Edmond FANGUY, for $200.00, dated July 21, 1828, bearing a mortgage on a piece of land. Witnessed by Philippe H. DARCE and Henry C. THIBODAUX.

No. 961 Pgs. 306, 307 3/613 On June 22, 1830 Jean Louis LABADIE, of the Parish of Lafourche Interior, declared that for $250.00, paid by Louis LAMOUREUX, of Thibodauxville, he hereby sells, cedes, abandons and delivers the undivided half of a piece of land, the said LABADIE acquired in community, with the said purchaser, Jean Mathurin DUPRE, containing 2 1/2 arpens front on each side of Bayou Terrebonne, with a depth of 10 arpens, on each side. Witnessed by Henry C. THIBODAUX and Jean Baptiste RICHARD.

No. 962 Pgs. 307-309 M/152 On June 22, 1830 Ortance LEBLANC, wife of Jean Baptiste RICHARD, duly authorized by her husband, also present, declared that whereas Jean Baptiste RICHARD, her husband, had sold to Adelaine BABIN, inhabitant of the Parish of St. James, by act passed before Judge Carlier DONTREMEN, now deceased, dated December 29, 1821, a piece of land situated in the Parish of Ascention, about six miles below entrance of Bayou Lafourche, bounded above by land of Joseph DAIGLE and below by land of Armogene LEBLANC, 2 arpens and 10 fathoms front on the Mississippi River, by depth of 40 arpens closing lines, for $2,000.00, she formally renounces all the rights of mortgage and privileges, that the law gives her on the property of her said husband. 1. For the restitution of her dowry, or for the reinvestment of the dotal properties that she brought in the marriage. 2. For the restitution of the dotal property, that she has acquired during the marriage, by succession or donation, subrogating Pierre PEDESCHAUX, owner of the aforesaid land. No. 963 Pg. 310 M/151 On June 23, 1830 Jean Baptiste GUIDRY gave withdrawal of the mortgage stipulated in the sale passed February 12, 1829, recorded Pg. 18. Witnessed by Robert TINSLEY and Evariste PORCHE.
